    Eyeglass Recycling Workday in Roanoke, VA: Eight members of District 12-N made the trip to Roanoke for the Eyeglass Recycling work day, including Lions Jim and Joanne Pope from Loudon, Lion Ken Gough from Johnson City, Zone Chair Edna Longwell, Lion Harlan Fraser, District Eyeglass Chair Harry Ennis from Kingsport, and District Governor Jim and Lion Shaaron McFarland from West Knox. There will be another trip in the spring.

    Peace Poster Contest – Remember to purchase your kit before October 1. Please follow the rules closely. The theme is “Peace Begins with Me.” District award will be given out again this year--more on amounts later. Send the postcard to Lion Sandra Thaler and let her know if you need help in any way.

    Lion Oliver Lang(on right), President of the South Knox Branch Club, receives a banner patch from DG Jim McFarland for the club's participation in the Day with the Lions / Walk for Sight. The presentation was made at the club's August 14 meeting. They are meeting on the campus of Tennessee School for the Deaf.
