Study Groups

The study groups are an important part of AAUW's program and are open to any member. The time, meeting place, and program are announced in each newsletter.

CONTEMPORARY LITERATURE
Time: 3rd Friday, 10:30 AM

Contemporary authors provide us with a variety of interesting topics. We particularly enjoy books pertaining to women. A program may be a single book or several mini-reviews chosen by the reviewer. A coffee or light luncheon will provide time for good fellowship.

GOURMET GROUP
Time: Last Monday, 7:00 PM

Join this fun group if you enjoy cooking good food or simply would like to contribute a dish from a local market. Programs include trips to local restaurants, homemade soups by the fire on a wintry evening, meals based on a theme such as pasta, ethnic di shes, English teas, etc. and new and creative suggestions from members. All those who love good food and good company are welcome!

EVENING BOOK DISCUSSION
Time: 3rd Tuesday, 7:30 PM

We meet September through June in a member's home to discuss a book -- fiction, non-fiction, classic, you name it -- and in so doing we learn more about each other AND ourselves! Our last meeting of the year is a potluck supper where we select next year' s reading list. Join us anytime!

GARDEN CONVERSATIONS
2nd Sat of every month

NEW HORIZONS
Time: 3rd Monday, 5:30 PM

This group focuses on issues affecting the lives of contemporary women whether in society, the workplace, or home. Topics for discussion are selected according to the interest of the group and have included personal computers, literacy, legislative issues, public education, etc.
