The AAUW logo is the stylized W standing for women. The color should be teal, black, or white, although these colors may be combined with other colors in publications. AAUW may appear beneath the W or to the left, as is done with the logo for the AAUW Action Fund, the AAUW entity that deals with lobbying and voter education. Increasingly, we are seeing Breaking through Barriers for Women and Girls, or simply Breaking through Barriers, along with the logo as you just saw in the video. I’m referring to this as the AAUW slogan. Ruth Sweetser referred to Breaking through Barriers as the organization’s DNA. Because equity is still an issue goes back a little further in time, but is still appropriate, I believe. Some other slogans have been used with pay equity—I am the Face of Pay Equity and Keep the Change Until Women Have Real Change.
