Instruction & Etiquette Aikido can be very frustrating at times, for all ranks, not just beginners. Some of the best advise you can follow is leave your ego at the door. No-one in Aikido will try to make you feel inferior. Most everyone will do their best to help you learn and grow. Frustration comes from the realization that some techniques are more difficult than they appear. As an Aikidoist increases in rank his or her responsibilities also increase; responsibilities not only for the dojo but for the care of the people under him or her. Although a beginner may be intimidated by an upper classmate or the instructor, he or she should realize that the upper classmate or the instructor will have the most concern for their safety and their technique. |
