Patrick will discuss practical quality improvement methods and strategies used to save his company more than 3 billion dollars over the last 5 years. Specific examples of successes and failures along the road to improvement will be discussed and explained. Patrick Chase is a Quality Improvement Engineer at BSH Home Appliances. Patrick coordinates the quality improvement projects at BSH and manages the reliability lab. Through quality improvement projects over $3.1 million dollars in warranty cost were saved over the last 5 years. This equates to a 52% reduction in warranty cost. Past accomplishments include using lean product development structure to reduce the cost of a product line by $10 million dollars in 2003. Prior to joining BSH, Patrick worked for Charbroil (Gas Grill
Manufacturer), Russell Corp (Athletic Wear), and Bradley Specialty Retail
(Sporting Goods). Patrick was also a member of the US Air Force.
His area of expertise includes quality, supply chain management, project
