Region 275 Field Conditions | Makeup Games

If there has been excessive rain, for example on a Friday night, it may be necessary to close the fields for Saturday games.

The Regional Board will make a decision prior to 8:00 AM on Saturdays.

If the fields are to be closed, they will be closed until 12:00 noon.  All games for the morning, AND all games involving teams from regions outside of Region 275 are cancelled for the day.

The decision will be posted on the hotline (694-8368) and website.

Decisions to cancel afternoon games will be made prior to 11:00.  Again check the hotline.

Philosophy on Rescheduling Games:

Make-up games should be discouraged. Play short-handed once in a while. If the coach can not be there, allow the assistant to coach.

To Reschedule a Game:

The coach taking exception to the regular schedule or the home coach must do the following:
  1. Reschedule game with the Susan Gunn the Region Scheduler -- It is preferred that this game be rescheduled for a Sunday afternoon. The region scheduler will approve the rescheduled game, let you know what field you can play on, and when it can be played.
  2. Arrange for referees.
  3. Contact coaches that have practices scheduled on the rescheduled game day so they can adjust their practice schedule.

The need for rescheduling is up to the two coaches involved. If a decision can not be reached, an appeal to the Regional Coach Administrator should be made.

For Games rained out, these rules differ slightly. If an entire Saturday is a wash, we will try to
  1. Make up the games on a Sunday afternoon,
  2. Cancel the games, or
  3. Allow coaches to make up the games following rules 1 and 2.

The avenue selected will be determined by the Regional Commissioner and announced to the Regional Coach Administrator and Regional Referee Administrator. The Regional Coach Administrator will then pass the word to the Division Coordinators who will then contact the coaches.
