Guidelines for Make Up
Games and Practices
Too much rain
and even lightning can impact training sessions and games.
If you want to reschedule to make-up a practice
during a week when you have missed your regular day, check the diagram that
shows what training areas are open. These are available on a first-come,
first-served basis. You are expected to work out conflicts in the
appropriate manner in front of the kids. Remember to let your players know
this is an extra practice is not a regular event for the rest of the
season.
If you need to reschedule a rained out game then you have two options:
(preferred)
1] Check the main schedule for Saturday games for an opening. If your
make-up game gets on the schedule at least a week or more in advance then
they will be handled just as a regular game and you will not have to make
contact with anyone for special arrangements. This could mean you have a
double-header on a weekend but this is no different from tournament
play. Sunday options also exist for
U6 through U10 at the Deane Hill fields.
or
2] Find a week night where you and the other coach can agree to play and
where the other coaches scheduled for practice on the field will agree to
move to another area. Remember the coaches
already scheduled for an area have first priority and you will need
them to agree – you can't just run them off. The areas next to the game
field must also be vacated if there are smaller players practicing there
and these coaches must also agree. We don't want them struck by a ball out
of bounds from the game. You will also need to arrange for nets/flags and
arrange to have the referee scheduler find an official for your game.
The master schedule up to date
on this www.ayso279.com Web site. Please have agreement between you and the
other coach confirmed and let the referee scheduler (Joanne Logan) and the
game scheduler (Chuck Schutt) know your need before you call to have a game
added to the master schedule. See the contact page on the Web site for
email addresses.
Remember,
that if you are not respectful of the fields and play or practice in an
area where you don't have permission, or schedule a game that forces other
coaches to abandon their training area without agreement, there is the
potential to lose your training privileges at the fields.
