BCC Shareholders - Buying and
Selling Pool Shares: There currently are 134 "owners" of the BCC
facilities (plus additional shares held by the club). These shareholders
may sell their pool share to anyone living or renting in the Briarcliff area. You may list your share for sale or rental by contacting the BCC membership Chair (see
BCC Pool Memberships for Sale or Rent). The price of the
share is determined by negotiation between the shareholder and the
social member wanting to buy the pool share. There are also pool shares
for sale by BCC. To complete the pool share sale, the selling
shareholder must complete the transfer information on the back of their
pool share certificate and forward the certificate to the Membership Chairman. The transaction will be
recorded in the BCC books and a new pool share certificate will be
issued. New BCC members will also need to pay an additional one time fee
of $50 to become a shareholder.
Renting Swimming Privileges:
Pool shareholders may rent their swimming privileges to BCC social
members (see
the renters list maintained by the BCC). Annual O & M fee
for shareowners is $425. If you choose to rent your swimming privileges
as a shareowner, your renter will pay you O & M, plus an
additional $100/year rental reserve fee, and an annual social/party fee
of $25 (unless they are already a paid up Social Member) plus a $50 assessment for resurfacing of the pool.
The total due BCC is $600 (or $575 if the renter has already paid a
social membership ). See the table below for complete payment
requirements. There will be a LATE FEE of $75 charged for those
fees received after March 31, $175 after May 15, and loss of certificate
after March 31 of the following year.
Starting in 2007,
THE SHAREOWNER, not the renter, must pay all annual fees.
If you are renting your share, please have your renter write you a check
for all fees (O&M + renter fee + social membership if not already
paid + assessment), and then write a check yourself for this amount to the BCC.
Then, please put the name and address of your renter on the memo line
of your check. This is the only way for us to track who has
legitimate pool access. If you or your renter are uncertain about the
Social Membership status of the renter, contact the Membership Chair. Pool Share Renters required to complete Membership/Rental Form: Pool share renters must complete and return the Membership/Rental Form (click on the link and print the form). |
