Children's classes are offered for each age and grade level from the nursery all the way through high school. The nursery provides paid staff for the crib babies. Each level uses literature appropriate for that age. Our teachers are experienced and are filled with enthusiasm for Christ and sharing the good news with our children. Following, is a list of our adult classes:

Singles Class

This group of single adults ranging in age from 50-70, studies Bible related subjects and current topics that affect our daily lives. Class members share teaching responsibilities.

Character Builder Class

This class is made up of young adults in their 30's and 40's. The class is one of our largest classes. The lessons follow the Encounter series.

Discipleship Renewal

Our newest class is made up of young adults in their 20's and 30's. Many members found themselves away from the church during college and early work years and are renewing their commitments. The class uses the Encounter quarterly material.

Faithful Workers/Challengers

This class is composed of mature adults. Twenty-five people are on roll with an average attendance of 15-20 each Sunday. There are diverse occupations represented in the class: teachers, administrators, secretaries, homemakers, retired persons, nurses, and others. The lessons are built around the International Sunday School literature and make use of the Cumberland Presbyterian Encounter quarterly.

College Age Class

This is a newly formed class focusing on Christian teaching for college age young men and women.

Bible 101

The class adopted the name "Bible 101" when they decided to read the Bible through in one year. Although their goal had to be lengthened to two years, the same concept of study has been followed throughout their Sunday School time. Currently the class is studying "The Purpose Driven Life" book. They welcome new people to come and join in the open discussions as they study God's Word. The class ranges in age from the early 30's to the retirement years. This range serves to create a wonderful blend of perhaps, new and different ideas for study and discussion. The class participates in some of the mission and outreach projects which are encouraged by the church. The class social activities are centered around a class dinner sometime during the Christmas holidays. The location for this class is on the main floor of the Family Life Center.

Kitchen Class

The kitchen class derives its name from its original location. The class consists of single and married parents. Most are 30 to 50+ years young although persons of all ages are welcome. Teaching is done on a rotational basis among the class members. Various teaching materials are used for the lessons. Social events include seasonal class parties, Valentine's dinner (prepared by the gents for the ladies) in a cabin in the Smoky Mountains, musical outings and dinner outings.

Searchers Class

There are no marital barriers in the Searchers class. Tommye McGinnis is the teacher. The ages range from 30's to post-retirement. The study material is diversified. Social activities include seasonal parties.

Lamplighters Class

This class is made up of men and women ages 55 and up. Lessons are from the uniform lesson series (used by churches of all denominations), which covers the entire Bible every six years. Much of the time is spent in discussion that makes all the lesson relevant to today's living. The Bible Discovery quarterly is used.
