Drum Corps International Trip July 24 Murfreesboro TN

******** Important Notice ********

The cost for the DCI trip is $30 per person. There is an incorrect cost of $25 shown on the bottom of the itinerary that was mailed to students. We apologize for this mistake. If you have already sent your check in for $25, please mail another check for the $5 difference. The itinerary posted on the website has the correct amounts shown.

If participating in marching band, the Band Medical Release Form Part 1 and 2 are required before going on any trip. The BHS BAND MEDICAL & RELEASE FROM and the Knox County-Medical Release Form (Notarized) must be turned in to the band office before you are allowed to travel off-campus for any band activity. (All forms are available on the Forms and Documents Page and are also linked above or if you have any questions please contact Mrs. Christian or Mr. Wilson at 539-7800 ext: 300 and/or beardendband@gmail.com) Mail all forms and check to: Bearden High School Band Boosters, P. O. Box 30164, Knoxville, TN 37930. All Orders, Monies and Forms Must Be Submitted By JULY 6, 2009.

Mandatory Bearden Marching Band Parent Meetings


All parents are asked to attend a mandatory parent meeting during the course of band camp. Two meetings are scheduled at different times; hopefully, one will be convenient for you to attend.

  • Tuesday, July 28, 2009 at 3:30 PM
  • Thursday, July 30, 2009 at 7:30 PM

Both meetings will be held in the BHS Library. Each meeting should last about an hour.

During this meeting you will have the opportunity to meet other high school band parents, learn about the ins and outs of the BHS Band program, and find a place where you can encourage your child and be a part of your child’s high school experience. We have numerous ways/venues for you to support your child through serving as a chaperone, on the hospitality committee, the car wash committee, the equipment crew and fundraising, There will be an opportunity for you to meet the various committee chairpersons and sign-up to work on these committees prior to and at the end of the meeting. We encourage each parent to be a part of their child’s band experience. There are many opportunities for all parents to serve in one capacity or another! It takes many individuals to make a program of this size and importance function, everyone must become involved!

BHS Band Needs and Wants

Below is a list of our needs and wants. If there is any way that you could help or would like to help with the items listed below, please feel free to contact us at 539-7800 ext. 300 or via email at beardenband@gmail.com.

Needed:

-Two new rectangular coolers with handles for drinks and ice

-A golf cart/small transportation vehicle for transporting equipment from the band room to the practice fields. (It would be best if this vehicle could also multi task as something to help move instruments and other equipment for football games and competitions.)

-A lockable tool box (click on "Tool Box")
