Director
Megan Christian received a
Bachelor of Music degree in both Music Education and Music Performance
from the University of Tennessee, and has taught in the Middle
Tennessee area for two years. She performed with the University of
Tennessee Pride of the Southland Band and was an Undergraduate
Assistant under the direction of Dr. Gary D. Sousa. As an undergraduate
student, she served as both chapter and statewide president of C-MENC.
During her career, she has studied internationally with world-renowned
flautist, Louis Moyse, and performed for multiple artists such as Jim
Walker and John Barcelona. As an undergraduate, Megan received
scholarships from the University of Tennessee Band and University Music
Department. She was a Phi Mu Alpha Scholarship Recipient and has
received awards based upon Undergraduate Creative Achievement. She has
performed locally with the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra and Oak Ridge
Symphony Orchestra, nationally as a principal performer of the
University of Tennessee Wind Ensemble and the University of Tennessee
Flute Choir, and internationally as the bass flautist for the 2001
Louis Moyse Tribute Concert. Megan is married to husband Joe.
James
Wilson received a Bachelor of Music degree from the
University of Tennessee. He performed as a member of the University's
Pride of the Southland Band, University Pep Bands, Tennessee Trumpet
Ensemble, and Concert and Symphonic Bands. He was also a member of the
Cincinnati Glory Drum and Bugle corps during the 1999 and 2000 seasons.
He performs regularly as a member of the Cokesbury Church orchestra, in
both solos and ensembles. He has studied trumpet performance under
Cathy Leach and Tina Erickson, along with having master classes with
the world renowned Doc Severinson. He studied conducting with Ed Powell
and has attended numerous master classes in conducting. While in
school, James was a member of the Phi Mu Alpha music fraternity along
with being a current member of MENC, TSSBDA, and ETSBOA. James is
married to wife Becky, has two cats (Mel and Sophie), and is an avid
St. Louis Cardinals fan.
