25th Annual
World's Greatest Free Car Wash
The 25th Annual
World's Greatest Free Car Wash will be held Saturday, August 27, 2011 at Office Depot parking lot, 7111 kingston Pike.
The car wash is "open to the public" at 9:00 AM and goes until 4:00 PM.
(Saturday, September 10, 2011 is the scheduled rain date.)
Before
the Car Wash:
Get the word out about the free car wash, by contacting friends,
neighbors, relatives, etc. and ask them to make a donation to the BHS
Band; in return they will be able to get their car washed for
free. We usually wash over 500 cars. Students will be provided
with donation forms to give to anyone making a donation and a master
donations sheet to record all donations. The
Car Wash
Donation Sheet MUST
be completed and turned in with monies collected. An additional
copy of this form can be found on the Documents and Forms page. Additional
copies of the donation forms are available in the band office.
We also need your help in advertising the car wash. Flyers are
available in the band room to put up in local businesses.
The
Day of the Car Wash:
9:00 AM-12:00 PM, 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM, and 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM. Both
parents and
students help with the car wash. Plan to get wet. Help us have a safe
car wash by obeying the following rules:
- Do not go into the street. Be aware of
cars moving through the car wash area.
- Shoes and proper attire must be worn at
all times.
- You will be out in the sun – wear
waterproof sunscreen.
- Please be courteous of other businesses
around the car wash. Parking is very limited.
Turn
in Donations:
As you collect donations, you should be completing the Car Wash Master
Donations sheet. Carefully count all the money collected,
complete the Student’s Donation Recap on the Master Donations sheet,
and put it in the provided envelope. Be sure to sign the bottom
of
the sheet. Collection dates to turn in donations will be posted
on the Events
Calendar and will be posted in the band room.
The Bearden High School Band Boosters facilitate the Free
Car Wash to offer an opportunity for band members to raise money for
the Bearden band program. To quote from the handbook, “It requires a
tremendous amount of money to operate a successful band program. Band
programs are not
funded (except for instructor salaries and provision of facilities) by
the county school system.”
THANK YOU
Office Depot
Office Depot has been the BHS Band's buddy for this event for a long
time. We thank them for the use of their facilities again this year.
Please remember them when shopping for office and school supplies.
