A Letter to Freshman Parents

July 9, 2007

Dear Incoming Freshman Parents,

On behalf of the Bearden Band Boosters Executive Board, I would like to welcome you as a new member of the Band Boosters. My name is Lori West and as 2nd Vice President, it is my job to be the liaison to all Freshman Parents. I hope to make your transition into the high school band program and easy one. You know the saying “It takes a village to raise a child.” well it takes a “village” of parent volunteers to help to make the Bearden Band the success that is. The best way to understand how the band program works is to get involved! I hope that during the July parent meetings you found a committee that peaked your interest or suited your personality. If you missed the parent meetings please look through this website and find a committee that you would enjoy working on or call me and I can give you information about each committee. We need both Moms and Dads.

If you are a first time high school band parent, and questions arise (and they will) that your child cannot answer, please feel free to contact me and I will do my best to answer your question or find someone who can. My e-mail address is lorinrad@comcast.net. This is a great way to get in touch if your question is not urgent. My phone number is 692-0203. You may call my house until 10:30 PM.

Again, welcome to the Bearden Band Family!

Sincerely,

Lori West
BHS Band Boosters
2nd Vice President
