A Teenage Pregnancy Prevention Program
Break The Cycle, Inc.
Break the Cycle

Break the Cycle focuses on bringing an abstinence only message to adolescents and pre-adolescents in East Tennessee.  The program is an initiative of the Loudon County Health Improvement Council.

We work with schools, churches and community organizations to serve the parents and youth within several counties of East Tennessee.  The purpose of Break the Cycle is to research, inform and educate the community concerning the seriousness of teenage pregnancy.

Show your child how to TARGET good decisions with these six steps

1. Think about each choice before you act.
2. Ask yourself what will happen if you make that choice.  What will happen right away?  What will the long-term effects be?
3. Remember your goals.  A good choice will fit your beliefs and values.  It will move you toward reaching the goals you have set for yourself.
4. Gather all the facts.  Get additional information and others' opinions, if needed.
5. Explore other possibilities.  Are there additional choices or solutions you haven't considered?
6. Think about your final decisions and its consequences.

Remember: Making good decisions takes practice.  And while there are no guarantees that the choice you make will be successful, following the TARGETed steps will help you and your children better navigate your way through the important decision-making process.
