Scoutmaster appoints Grubmaster Captain
Choose two Assistant Grubmasters each outing
(Assistant Grubmasters should be younger scouts working on food requirements
to advance in ranks)
Grubmasters meet during 1st period to discuss meal plan
(what meals are needed, which meals are cooked, does the scout provide,
does the troop provide, etc.)
Meals are divided and planned during the week
(what food is to be prepared, ingredients, recipe, etc.)
3rd Monday before outing
Grubmasters meet during 1st period and consolidate meal plan
Grubmaster Captain presents meal plan to LC/PLC for review/comments
2nd Monday before outing
Grubmasters meet during 1st period and review LC/PLC input
(adjust meal plan as needed)
Make Food List for shopping
List equipment needed for the Quartermasters (don't forget staples & cleaning supplies)
Monday before outing
Grubmasters check with Scoutmaster for number of Scouts/Leaders attending outing
and if any diet restrictions are known (you need to know how many to shop for)
Grubmasters go to Loft and inventory staple items in storage;
add items needed to shopping list
Wednesday before outing
Grubmasters and Assistant Grubmasters meet at the Grocery Store to shop for Troop
(don't forget ice)
Food is divided by Grubmasters and taken home to keep for Troop until outing
Day of outing
Grubmaster team responsibilities: Bring food to church, package food per patrol,
ice the coolers, load food on the bus under direction of Quartermasters
