Citizens Against the Pellissippi Parkway Extension

Board of Directors

CAPPE is governed by a Board of Directors. We have six committees, each of which is chaired by a Director. All committee work is part of our strategy to stop the construction of the Pellissippi Parkway Extension, and in so doing to help stop the construction of the proposed Southern Loop.

At the 2012 Annual Meeting, elections were held for CAPPE’s Board of Directors.
Stephanie Burr, Jay Clark, Mike Cook and Geoff Riggin were elected to 2-year terms.
Nina Gregg and Susan Keller were elected to 1-year terms.

Officers for 2012-2013 are Mike Cook, President; Susan Keller, Vice-President; Marian Fitzgerald, Treasurer; and Geoff Riggin, Secretary. Stephanie Burr, Jay Clark, Kim Cook and Nina Gregg are Directors-at-Large.

Members

CAPPE supporters are Blount County residents and other concerned citizens who believe this interstate highway is not needed, wastes state resources, and will have negative impacts on the area along the route and on the quality of life in Blount County as a whole. Additional supporters are concerned with helping to stop the construction of the proposed Southern Loop. The Southern Loop is a proposed beltway around Alcoa and Maryville that will bring traffic, air and noise pollution, and urban sprawl to the outlying areas of Blount County.
