Help
Diskettes
Click below to download a file that will
install a KORRnet destop icon on your computer and help files. The desktop
icon is a profile for HyperTerminal. Clicking it will start HyperTerminal
with the dial up phone number for KORRnet already installed.
This is a great tool for helping others
apply for email accounts with KORRnet and access the internet through our
server. All you need to do is:
-
Download korrnet.exe
to
your hard drive. (click
korrnet.exe
and save
the file to your machine)
-
Put a blank floppy disk in your computer.
-
Double click korrnet.exe
on
your computer.
This will produce a floppy disk you can use
to install help files and a KORRnet desktop icon on any computer you want.
Here's how that works:
1) Insert the diskette you just
made
2) Click the Start button
3) Select Run
4) Type a:\help
5) click OK
This is what happens when you follow the five
steps above:
1) A small program called help.bat makes
a folder on your hard drive called KORRnet. (You can find this folder in
Windows Explorer by opening: C:\Program Files\Accessories.)
2) The program copies all the files on
the diskette into the new folder.
3) Then it moves a HyperTerminal profile
to the HyperTerminal folder. (The profile is called KORRnet.ht, and it
can be found in: C:\Program Files\Accessories\HyperTerminal.)
4) Next, shortcuts to the KORRnet HyperTerminal
profile and a folder with KORRnet help files are moved to your desk top.
The HyperTerminal shortcut is called KORRnet, it's on your desk top and
looks like two little phones. The KORRnet help files are in a folder on
your desk top called KORRnet Help. (Both of these shortcuts' files are
in C:\Windows\Desktop)
5) Lastly, Notepad opens to display a more
detailed version of this text! Please read past step 5) in that text for
more information.
