Transferring
Your Website to KORRnet (click here to go to
the index)
Once you have your website finished,
and it works on your computer, you are ready to transfer it to the KORRnet
computer. I use a free program that I downloaded from the Internet to do
this. It's called WS_FTP. It is easy to use, and you can get it
the same way that you got Netscape's Composer (assuming you downloaded
that program!).
I turned this page into three topics:
First, go to the website at (click the image):
When you get to their page, click the link
at the top of the page to go to their Download Evaluations area.
The link looks like this:

You'll have to fill in a form like this to
get the software:
Be sure to select WS_FTP LE 5.06 by
clicking the little button on the screen. Also, if you are staff of a nonprofit
organization, be sure to select "Individual" for the User Type.
This will qualify you for a free copy of the software. Click the "Next"
button to go to the download page.
Click one of the download links to start downloading
the software. You should get a "Save As..." window asking
you where you want to put the file.

Click the little button that looks like a
shiny new folder
to create a new folder on your hard drive to store the program. When you
position your mouse over the button the words "Create New Folder"
should appear (in Windows 95 / 98). You should see the new folder in the
Save
As... window.

Give the new folder a name . . . I called
mine "ftp" after the program I downloaded.

FTP means File Transfer Protocol,
which just means copying files from one computer to another.
Next, click the Open button.
The Save in: window should show the new folder you just created. Click
Save,
and your software will download to your machine.

You'll get a little Saving Location window
with a progress meter on it that shows you an estimate of the time left
to download WS_FTP.

The program will take several minutes to download.
After it is finished (the Saving Location window will vanish), you
will be ready to install and set up the program.
