Setting Up WS_FTP

After the program downloads, open the folder where you saved it in Windows Explorer. Double click the file and follow the instructions on screen.

The program should install itself on your hard drive in the folder C:\Program Files\WS_FTP, and it should create an icon that you can get to from the Start button.

Start the program and set it up for your website. A window called "Session Properties" will pop up. Click the "New" button and put in your organization's information, like this (where "your organization's account" is the username you were given when your account was activated on KORRnet):

Setting Up WS_FTP
Notice that I checked "Save Pwd" to save the password so that next time I log in I won't have to type it in.

Click Apply to save your changes, then click the Startup tab.

Setting the Startup
Folders
Both of these settings are optional, but they'll save you some time.

The Initial Remote Site Folder is the location on the KORRnet computer where your home page will be stored. Type "public_html" just as you see it in the picture above.

The Initial Local Folder is where your home page is stored on your computer. Type in the name of the folder where you keep the files for your home page. The easiest way I know to do that is to open Windows Explorer, open the folder where my files are, then copy the location from the Address window (Tip: if you click the address in the Address window then hold down the Ctrl key and press C, you can paste it into Initial Local Folder window by holding down the Ctrl key again and pressing V.).

You should be ready to go. Click Apply to save the changes, then click OK to log into your account at KORRnet.
