HyperTerminal Set Up Guide


This is a step by step guide for connecting to KORRnet using the HyperTerminal program that comes with Windows 95 / 98.
  • Step 1
    • Click the Start button. Navigate your way to the Accessories folder and select HyperTerminal

      If HyperTerminal isn't installed on your computer, click here for help.

    • In the HyperTerminal window open HYPERTRM.EXE.

    • Type a name for your connection, select an icon, and click OK.

    • Type in the phone number: 521-5638, then click OK.

    • Click Dial.

    • You should hear your modem dialing KORRnet's server. It sounds like a fax machine. When the connection is made, you'll be prompted to log in.

    • At the login prompt, type apply. The program will give you information and let you sign up for an account. You will also make up a password. If you make a mistake, just hit return (or enter), and the program will ask you to retype the information. (NOTE: If you already have a KORRnet account, type in your username. The instructions here are for first time users.)

    • When you are finished entering all the information to set up your account and you have verified that all your information is correct, you are ready to disconnect. When you close HyperTerminal, you can save your information. Click Yes.

    • Next time you want to log in to KORRnet, choose the session you made up this time from the HyperTerminal window. Mine is called: KORRnet.ht. Yours will be whatever name you chose in Step 3 with a period and ht added to the end of it.
