Tennesseeans for Choice Participate in Oak Ridge Mayfest.

On Friday May 9 and Saturday May 10, Tennesseeans for Choice again participated in the Oak Ridge Mayfest by setting up a booth to distribute literature, buttons, bumper stickers, and information on choice issues.

A world of thanks go to those who manned the table for this marathon event: Carol Minarick, Janis Williams, Carol Oen, Woody and Ruth Gove, Peg Turpin, Dottie Gilpatrick, Jack Goodwin, Nancy Gregor, Carl Bretz, Barbara Hurtubise, Caryl Kaplan, Ellen Faby, Kay Dillon, Katie Tauxe, and Barbara and Bob Stone. Special thanks are due to Linda Gilpin, who managed "Set-up" and "Take-down" Saturday, and to Elizabeth Peelle and Bob Stone, who acted as organizers and chairpersons for the event.

Mayfest has proven to be a important means by which TFC "gets the word out" and has a chance to interact positively with the public. It also is a choice means for members to interact and get to know one another. Once again, "Thanks for your commitment!"

People Make TFC -- Thank You for Being There!

Thanks to the people who spoke at the annual meeting back in March: Judy Roitman of Planned Parenthood, Lenny Croce of Rural Legal Services, Bob Stone, David Reister, Ellen Smith, and Elizabeth Peelle. Several of their presentations are included in this issue. Peg Turpin and Linda Gilpin coordinated refreshments for the meeting and had help from several "food artists." Harriet Joslin arranged publicity. Special thanks to the "Sorta Singers" for entertaining us at the meeting: Trish Holst, Annie Gholson, Larry Rosenbaum, Jan Thompson, Webb Van Winkle, Margot Spore, and Paul Leiby.

Thanks to Jan Thompson for mailing out the last issue of the Advocate, and to Janis Williams for mailing out this one. Thanks to Ellen Faby for taking over the job of mailing list coordinator.

ARE YOUR TFC MEMBERSHIP DUES DUE?

Your Advocate mailing label indicates when you should renew your annual contribution. If your dues are due, please use the form on the back page to send us your renewal. If you renewed in the last few months and it's not shown on your label, don't panic -- there may be a lag in updating labels.
