2010 EVENTS SCHEDULED

CHOTA Monthly Meetings
"We encourage and welcome visitors".

Club Meetings - 2nd Thursday of each month
General membership meeting at 6:30

August Meeting: Tuesday, Aug 10, at Calhoun's on Bearden Hill

Join us at 6 pm, Tuesday, Aug 10, at Calhoun's on Bearden Hill for our
monthly meeting. Our banquet room is to the left after you enter. Order
up dinner and catch all the summer's paddling stories.

At 7 pm, "Connecting the Dots" with guest speakers Carol Evans, President of
Knoxville Legacy Parks Foundation, and Brian Hann, President of Appalachia
Mountain Bike Club. The topic is a 1,000 acre park on the south side of the
Tennessee river across from downtown Knoxville.

One day, with our input, the park will feature paddling on Quarry Lake as
well as mountain bike trails. A whitewater waterpark requires significant
capital and may be years off but it has been prominently mentioned in City
of Knoxville South Waterfront planning meetings
