    CTM 50th Anniversary Celebration - The museum was dedicated on April 16, 1958 and opened to the public on April 21, 1958. Special proclamations will be read and presented to the museum by both Morristown City and Hamblen County government representatives relating the fact that the museum has provided heritage education in the Lakeway area for 50 years. An 1950's-themed open house will be held from 2:00 - 4:00 PM on Sunday April 27, 2008 at the museum. If approved and ready, a site dedication plaque will be presented by the Samuel Doak Chapter of the National Daughters of the American Revolution, marking the property as the site of the boyhood home of David Crockett. If the plaque is not ready by the April 27th date it will be presented at a later date.

    April 29, 2008 - Crockett Tavern Museum opens for the 2008 season.

    August 17, 2008 - David Crockett's 222nd Birthday Celebration will be held on Sunday, August 17th from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m at the museum wih refreshments, children's activities, and tours of the museum.

    September 13, 2008 - Crockett Fall Fest is planned for Saturday, September 13, 2008 on the lawn of the museum from 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. with colonial food, music, dance, and re-enactors.

    Analyse Claire Daigle, 8 months. She is the youngest direct decendant (6th generation) of David Crockett known today. She descends thru John Wesley Crockett, David's 1st son. Her parents are Chris & Ashley Daigle. Chris the the current President of the Direct Descendants of David Crockett & Kin, which will hold their July, 10-12, 2008 reunion in Limestone, TN at the Davy Crockett Birthplace State Park.
