The League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan organization that does not support or oppose any political parties or candidates. The League works to encourage the informed and active participation of citizens in government, to increase understanding of major public policy issues, and to influence public policy through education and advocacy. The Knoxville-Oak Ridge Regional Network - is the independent electronic community network serving Knoxville and the surrounding region. Our Web site is located at www.korrnet.org (opens new window).

Our mission is three-fold:

A) Improve the quality of community life by increasing participation in civic and community affairs.

B) Provide both residents and visitors a portal to the region's rich cultural, educational and community resources.

C) Bridge the digital divide for those who otherwise would be left behind in the information age.

To implement this mission, KORRnet:

** Showcases the activities and resources of our community at www.korrnet.org.

** Provides Web sites to 800 non-profit community groups, churches, social service agencies, and other organizations.

** Connects Knoxville area citizens with e-mail accounts.

** Offers computer/Internet classes and free Internet access at our Community Access Lab at Knoxville Center Mall.

** Provides computers, e-mail addresses and Internet access to elderly and differently abled people who are homebound.
