About the Organization

The East Tennessee Education Association (ETEA) was created to support professional development activities for educators. From modest beginnings 104 years ago, ETEA has grown to more than 7,000 members and includes professionals from education, business and industry, parents, government, and hardware and software vendors.

ETEA conducts several major conferences each year for the purpose of bringing together practicing educators and those who support education. While the theme this year is focused on “Pre-K and Early Childhood" and "Brain Based Learning and Brain Smart Teaching,"  workshops and presentations on a wide variety of related areas will be presented.

The 2005 conferences were attended by 5,423 educators from 68 different educational systems. Plans for the 2007 Conference are underway, and several regional workshops will again be offered. (Refer to the ETEA Homepage to see a description of the Workshop which will be offered in February 2008 in Athens, Tennessee). We invite you to submit a proposal to present at next year's convention or at one of the ETEA regional conferences.
