Hybridizers

Tom Parkhill of Knoxville, TN, has been "raising a few seedlings" for more than 50 years.  Tom specializes in TBs and has introduced several, including MIAH JANE, which was first runner up for the President’s Cup at the 2002 American Iris Society in Memphis TN, and received the American Iris Society Award of Merit in 2007.

Miah Jane (Parkhill)

Jim Ennenga has also hybridized for decades.  He retired to Knoxville, TN, from Nebraska, where he served as RVP.  He has introduced SDB, BB, TB, Siberian, and Louisiana irises.  His current hybridizing interests include TBs, arilbreds, MTBs, and  SDBs, especially those that rebloom.

Geraldine and Jack Couturier, at Sunnyridge Gardens, specialize in the unusual, including space age irises.  Geraldine has been hybridizing for about 10 years, and has introduced two space age TBs.  Their commercial garden also offers daylilies for sale:  Sunnyridge Gardens, 1724 Drinnen Rd., Knoxville, TN, 37914, phone 865-933-0723.

Bill and Mary Grise, Richmond, KY, have also introduced tall bearded irises, including rebloomers.

Novice “pollen daubers” in the club include Linda Mann of Kingston, TN,  and Reba Vinyard of Oliver Springs, TN.
