Meetings are held at 7 PM on the second Monday of the months March through October at Bethel United Methodist Church, 5955 West Emory Road, Knoxville, TN 37931. Church doors open at 6:00 PM for socializing and refreshments . Members bring blooms to show and plants to share. Meeting starts at 7:00 PM. ETIS has open membership—dues are $5. Below is a list of program topics for meetings. We are always open to suggestions for new program ideas. March - May - Annual Judged Show, Garden Tour & Picnic; Region 7 spring meeting June - Annual Rhizome Sale
April - Flower arranging and show stalk grooming. May - Our annual show and rhizome sale will be held on May 3 at Knoxville Center Mall. Spring Meeting will be May 16 and 17 at Somerset , KY. Cost is $20 The meeting is hosted by the Blue Grass Iris Society, and will feature the Van Hook Garden at 2210 Piney Grove Road in Somerset . Garden judges training will be from 9:AM until noon. June - June 28 & 29 - Annual rhizome sale. August - Distribution of club-purchased iris or distribution of club purchase increase. September - Distribution of members' rhizome increase. Region 7 Fall Meeting will be Sept. 5 and 6 at Henry Horton State Park . Any iris lover/grower is welcome. Send $20 registration check to Middle Tn. Iris Society and mail to Eleanor Boyson, 3811 Highway 49 East, Charlotte , TN 37036 . Make room reservations before Aug. 1, mention Region 7 and get special rate at Henry Horton State Park Lodge, 931-364-2222. |
