Adaptations
Adaptation is one of the primary services offered by ETTAC. The primary objective of adaptations is to
make the necessary modifications to equipment or software to accommodate the individual needs of our clients.
Below is a sample of the types of adaptations that we offer for persons with impaired abilities:
Worksites
- assessments of work environment and individual needs
- assistive technology equipment/devices such as evaluations for items and setup of items
- training for individuals in the use and setup of assistive technology devices
- ergonomical accommodations such as a chair, workstation, forearm supports, or a large monitor
Hardware
- customize equipment and devices
- modify computer systems
Software
- customize program preferences and settings
- create and set up customized files
- train individuals or groups on particular software programs
Toys
Many battery-operated toys can be adapted for switch access which allows for independent activation and play for children with disabilities. Our service technician modifies the toys for switch accommodations on an individual needs basis. A small fee may be included in the service. Contact us for additional information.
