At ETTAC,
we offer Assistive technology service, where we directly help
individuals with disabilities to properly select, acquire or use assistive technology devices.
ETTAC
serves the East Tennessee Region which includes the following counties:
Anderson, Blount, Campbell, Carter, Claiborne, Cocke, Cumberland,
Fentress, Grainger, Greene, Hamblen, Hancock, Hawkins, Jefferson,
Johnson, Knox, Loudon, McMinn, Monroe, Overton, Putnam, Rhea, Scott,
Sevier, Sullivan, Unicoi, Union, Washington.
Jason McClure shows Lori Tucker, with WATE TV 6, how he uses adapted equipment to draw and to augment his speech. Jason receives training and technical support services from ETTAC through funding from Tennessee's Division of Rehabilitation Services.
We provide:
- Equipment and software demonstrations of assistive technology
- Consultations, evaluations and assessments for individuals, families, schools and other agencies
- Programs for children and adults with disabilities
- Workshops and trainings
- Curricular modifications
- Adaptations of worksites, hardware, software and toys
- Loan of hardware, toys and assistive devices
- Information on ADA, laws and community services
- Advocacy and funding information
