Toy Tech - 2006

Students in the Beta Club at Vine Middle Performing Arts and Sciences Magnet School donate toys Six students in the Beta Club at Vine Middle Performing Arts and Sciences Magnet School helped with Toy Tech this year. Under the guidance of their teacher, Antoinette Williams, they donated 7 toys and batteries for volunteers to adapt. These adapted toys were given to children with disabilities at our annual Toy Tech Holiday party. One of the students, Corey Hodge, wrote, "I was a part of something that put a smile on kids' faces." Sylvia Penner thanked us for the opportunity to give back to the community. On behalf of all the children who benefited from these toys, we want to thank Briana Flannagan, Corey Hodge, Xzavian Wrushen, Sylvia Penner, Sarai Marcano, and Eugene Pettit.

These wonderful volunteers rolled up their sleeves, helped to set up for the party, decorated, brought and served food, provided crafts, and helped clean up at the end. Thank you, Junior League, for your generosity and continued support for this event. Over 170 people attended the party at Central Baptist Church in Fountain City on December 4. We could not do this without you! Thank you, Junior League!

Photo of "Santa Bill" holding a child
We had a special guest at the Toy Tech party who took time to meet each child, listen to special requests, and have his picture taken with them. Santa Bill even went to visit some of the children at home or in the hospital who couldn't come to the party! Thank you, Santa, for spending your time with us and for your heart for the children!
