First Baptist Church Calls Family Minister
The First Baptist Church (FBC) of Oak Ridge has called Naomi Brown as Family Life Minister. Naomi grew up in East Tennessee, graduated from the University of Tennessee, and completed her Masters of Divinity at the McAfee School of Theology at Mercer University in December 2005.  Prior to coming to Oak Ridge she served as a Ministry Intern at Clairmont Hills Baptist Church in Decatur, Georgia where she rejuvenated the college and young adult ministries as well as provided enthusiastic leadership for the Wednesday night children's program. During her time at UT she was a leader of “huddle groups” for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
At FBC she serves as a minister to the entire church with primary emphasis on youth ministry.  Other responsibilities include equipping and developing lay leadership for the children (from birth to youth), youth and family ministries of the church.
Naomi's husband Jeff recently accepted employment as a mechanical engineer in Knoxville.
