Meeting Tuesday, February 5.  For our February meeting, we are going to the student dress rehearsal for the opera "La Forza Del Destino."  The cost is $5.00 per person. Please send your money to Ely Driver, 5833 Briercliff Road, Knoxville, TN37918.  We need to get a count as soon as possible so that Phyllis can give a list of attendees to the opera.  The rehearsal starts at 6:30, so you will need to be there at least 15 minutes before that.

Welcome to another year of Friendship Force.  We had a good first meeting where we learned about the people, the towns, and the food of France.  Next we'll listen to what our opera conductor says is one of the greatest operas.  In March, we'll celebrate International Friendship Day, so you won't want to miss any of it.  On another note, I sent emails to everyone recently and some of them were returned to me.  If your email address has changed, please let us know, so that we can change it for the directory.  I look forward to working with all of you in bringing great programs to our group.
CLUB CONCERNS: Judy Weigel has just returned home from the hospital.

VISITORS AT THE MARCH MEETING: Shane Campbell, son of Angie and Kathy, Charley and Kelly Wood who presented the program on their experiences in living and exploring the countryside of Provence, France.
FUTURE MEETINGS: March is World Friendship Day and International Dinner. It will be a covered dish dinner. More information later.
In April Lonnie and Ruthie McIntyre and friends will present a program on their Morocco trip. As you may recall their former presentation was interrupted due to technical problems. We look forward to that presentation.
SOUTHEAST REGIONAL CONFERENCE: If you have not registered for the Southeast Regional Conference to be held in Pigeon Forge on April 22 – 24 now is the time. Following the conference on April 24 – 27 we will be home hosting in Knoxville. If you can host, please contact Joanne Schuetz. Information and registration forms were in the last newsletter.
MEMBERSHIP DIRECTORIES: If you have not done so, please send your 2008 dues to Ely Driver so that he can get the 2008 Directory published.
