| September 2008 Board Meeting Minutes |
The Fox Run Homeowners' Association Board
met at 7:00PM on September 4, 2008. Attending were Karen Tunstall, Mike Ryon, John Larese,
Rod Langman, Jack Hampson, and Scott Gibson.
1. Covenants: Letters detailing covenant violations were sent out to 5 residents with
trailers in driveways, 3 residents with uncovered air/heating units, and multiple
residents with undeveloped lots that are not being mowed. Only minimal response was
obtained from the letters. A second round of letters will be sent indicating that liens
will be placed and preparations made for court actions if needed, unless violations are
corrected.
2. Facilities:
Pools: Pool will be closed after September 28. Filters will be examined after year is over
to determine why they are functioning poorly.
Security lights: Photocell sensor and one of the lights was replaced to correct lighting
deficiencies. Presence of lights has reduced loitering and vandalism.
Tennis Court Lights: John and Rod are continuing work on this project. Current issues are
with Town of Farragut and ordinances dealing with minimizing stray light. We have
contacted electrician and installer who are helping resolve issues.
3. Grounds: Damaged tree at corner of Norden and Brochardt needs to be taken down. Jack
volunteered to do this. We will not replace the tree because of size of other pin oaks on
boulevard. Scott and Rod met with Town and Volunteer Lawn regarding sidewalk and front
entrance. Volunteer may be able to move dogwood trees (on both sides of entrance). This is
needed because right side tree blocks view and left side tree is in path of sidewalk.
Board approved use of sports field (for a fee) for a commercial exercise class. Based on
reservations about buying large enough trees, it was decided not to proceed with trees to
hide the new power poles.
4. Clubhouse survey: Approximately 170 residents have responded to survey about clubhouse,
with about 60% favoring the project. [These results have not been verified against known
list of subdivision email addresses, and are not considered final]. Those opposed to
project generally have questions about the high cost, size, and/or dues increases. A
summary of the survey and pertinent questions will be sent to residents. It was also
decided to contact the minority of residents not on email.
5. Speeding. Jack will schedule the use of off duty policemen to monitor neighborhood for
trial period of a month or two to see if this reduces speeding and vandalism.
The next meeting will be in early October and we adjourned at 8:30 PM.
Note: After the meeting, Nancy Wentz provided a summary of the finances. As of the end of
August, we have approximately $267,000 in assets. Only 9 residents have not fully paid
dues for this year, representing a little over $2500.
