The Fox Run Homeowners' Association Board met at 6:30 PM on January 5, 2009. Attending were Nancy Wentz, Ivy Lalonde, Mike Ryon, Karen Tunstall, Rod Langman, Jack Hampson, and Scott Gibson.

1. Architectural Reviews: Scott reviewed and approved one house addition.

2. Covenants: Most violators responded positively to the letters detailing covenant violations that were sent out to residents last month. Mike will send a second list of current violators and contact will be made with these residents. Typical problems include trailers in driveways and uncovered air/heating units.

3. Facilities:

Tennis Court Lights: John and Rod are continuing work on this project. We have contacted electrician and installer who are helping resolve issues and will offer a second project estimate.

4. Grounds: Additional trees may be planted near the big springs to help transition this area from grass requiring mowing to a wooded area. Small bare root trees will be used, due to low cost ($1 each), and planted in late February or early March. Also when front entrance is redone as a result of the town sidewalk, we may try to move the dogwoods to this area.

5. Clubhouse survey: A summary of the survey will be posted on the Fox Run website (www.discoveret.org/foxrun).

6. Speeding: Jack checked further about using off duty policemen to monitor neighborhood for trial period of a month or two to see if this reduces speeding. He was informed that they can only drive around and not use radar to track speeders. It was decided this would not produce the results the board expected, so we will not use this approach.

7. Vandalism. The recent vandalism incidents were reviewed and possible responses were discussed. Jack checked about using a private security firm to patrol the neighborhood. Pros to this approach: they could hold someone if they see a crime being committed and they would provide a visible security presence in neighborhood; cons would be higher cost and difficulty in covering neighborhood. Jack also suggested we get a crime analysis of the area from Knox County. That should show any patterns, particularly as to how our neighborhood compares to others in West Knoxville. We decided to request the analysis. Finally, we discussed option of installing security cameras in the neighborhood. This might help target potential criminals, but not sure how local police would use the images or whether they would pursue leads. Also, where to install cameras was discussed. We decided to continue to evaluate this option.

8. Finances: Nancy presented our finances. Only three resident properties have not paid their 2008 dues. They are being assessed late fees and liens will be started as appropriate. We have about $249,000 in our accounts.

9. Social. Nancy will plan a progressive dinner for February. Notices will be sent on email. We are also considering forming a Decoration Committee to help decorate common areas for appropriate holidays.

10. Directory. Nancy has a rough draft of new directory and should have final printed in a week or so. They will be assembled the weekend of January 17. If interested in helping, contact foxrunnews. NOTE: Directories have been assembled and delivered. Please let us know if you did not receive one.

The next meeting will be in early February and we adjourned at 8:30 PM.
