About Our Transition Pastor

The Reverend W. Jerry Weeks came to Gloria Dei as our Transition Pastor on September 1, 2009.  Trained as an “intentional interim minister,” he will shepherd our congregation as we begin the search for new pastoral leadership.  Pastor Weeks retired after thirty-eight years of parish ministry, having served congregations in Tennessee, Alabama, North Carolina, and Kansas.  He received his education at Maryville College, Yale University Divinity School, and with further graduate work at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Princeton Theological Seminary.  He especially enjoys preaching, teaching the Bible, and pastoral care.

He and his wife, Marian, have been married forty-two years, and they have two daughters and four granddaughters.  They live in Maryville.
