Tennessee Summer Reading Program titled “Join The Rompin’ Stompin’
Reading Roundup”. The
popular summer program, sponsored by the Tennessee State Library and
Archives, the Hancock County Public Library, and generous area sponsors
included programs for children ages 3—8. Weekly programs were held at the library. Our summer reading program kick-off was June 7, 2007 with special guest, Ronald McDonald. A reptile program with Jason Chadwell from Panther Creek State Park was held June 14th. "Marshal" Andy Smalls was here June 21st and entertained our guests with rope tricks, cowboy stories, and other old west fun. A magic show with special guest, Scott Compton, was held on June 29th. We
celebrated all their reading accomplishments with a pizza party and prizes
on July 12th. Congratulations to all who participated.
Together these children read over 803 books! We are looking forward to the 2008 program. Information about the 2008 program will be available in April 2008. Young Adult Summer Reading Program Also,
this summer tweens and teens from 9 – 18 years old were
part of 3rd summer reading program for young adults entitled “Find Your
