The Hickory Woods Homeowners Association met Tuesday, April 14, 1998, and approved an increase in the yearly dues to $25.00. This is the first increase in dues in a long, long time.

According to our by-laws, dues are to be paid in the month of April. In the past, Area Representatives have collected dues and turned the money in to the treasurer. This year we are going to try a different, more streamlined approach. Attached you will find a stamped, addressed envelope to our HWHA Treasurer. Please double check your return address to be certain that it is complete and correct. This will be the information we use to update the new directory. After you make any corrections, please mail the envelope with your $25.00 dues enclosed by April 30.

We hope you will choose to participate in sharing responsibility for our neighborhood finances. Hickory Woods is such a lovely place to live and we believe the activities offered add to the quality of life in our neighborhood. Dues money is used

to help with social activities for both adults and children;
to maintain our entryway with plants and flowers;
to pay electricity for entryway lights;
to decorate mailboxes at Christmas;
to provide newsletters to all residents;
to provide a directory to all members; and
to serve dinner and provide babysitters for association meetings.

Please know that the Board respects your money and makes every effort to spend it wisely. We will not purchase alcohol with neighborhood funds. If you have concerns as to how dues money is spent, we hope you will call either of us and we will be happy to address your concerns and make certain we understand how you feel about these issues. Our goal this year is to have 100% participation!

Whether you own your home or you are a resident, we do hope that 1998 will be the year you join with your fellow neighbors to make this neighborhood a safe, happy and pleasant place to live. We certainly are proud of Hickory Woods and feel privileged to be a part of the association.
