PRIVACY POLICY

User privacy is of concern to us at the HWHA. We have laid out the following policies for this site:

  • We identify when we need information from you that may be "personal." To place that information on the web site, we require that you provide written permission to HWHA by letter or by e-mail to hckrywds@aol.com. The exception is for officers and official committee members who need to be contacted for official HWHA business. For these people, there is an implied permission to use the name and phone number on the web page. For example, if you are not an officer of the association, the use of your name, address, phone number, or e-mail address in the HWHA web site will require your written permission.

Give us your permission to put your personal information on the site, except...

  • If you are an officer or a member of any of the official committees of the Hickory Woods Homeowners Association, your name and phone number will automatically be added to the web page UNLESS you specifically request in writing that this information not be included. We will be glad to exclude or remove any information about officers or committee members, if you say so. Just e-mail your instructions to Webmaster at hckrywds@aol.com. Note: Removing this information from the web page does not remove it from the printed Directory. The Directory is the printed list of neighbors and is issued to all Hickory Woods residents when they first move in. It is updated regularly by the HWHA.

Officers and committee chairs give implied permission for names and phone numbers on the web.

  • We do not give anyone outside the HWHA the authorization to access the information contained in the Directory and maintained for support of this site. You may tell us things that you want the HWHA to retain on file. We hope that you will want to provide information about yourself for use of your neighbors on this site and in our printed directory. It will make our web site and the directory more valuable to you.

The Directory is separate from the web site.

  • We may, from time to time, ask personal preference questions. You are never required to answer these questions. This data may be used for analyzing neighborhood demographics, our preferences and tastes, and similar "getting to know our neighbors" purposes. We may disclose this data on the site, but never with personal data assigned to the information.

We won't disclose personal information from answers to questions on the site.

  • The choice of how much personal information you disclose to the HWHA is completely up to you. But however you choose to interact with our site, you have our guarantee of privacy: HWHA will never willfully disclose individually identifiable information about neighbors in the HWHA to any third party without first receiving that person's written (or e-mail) permission.

HWHA won't disclose anything without permission from you.

  • We may catalog web site traffic patterns throughout the site, including identifying browser and system data. This data, with no personal information, may be used to improve the web site.

We may look at traffic patterns on the web.

  • If you add your e-mail address to our private or public (on the web page) list, we will send you e-mail with information about the neighborhood. You may add or remove your name and e-mail address from either list by simply sending an e-mail message to hckrywds@aol.com, the HWHA Webmaster, with a description of the change in the subject line. Adding or removing names and addresses is a manual operation, so you will be updated on the e-mail list at the next update of the e-mail address book and web site e-mail page.

Add or remove your name from the public e-mail list at any time.

  • If you wish to remove your personal information that is stored by the HWHA on the web site, you should e-mail hckrywds@aol.com and tell us to remove your name from our listing. We will remove you at the next regular update of our pages according to your request.

You can remove any of your information from the site at any time.

  • Security: We ensure the confidentiality and security of information stored for our web site by maintaining all information except the web pages that you can see on the web site on a computer separate from the web server.

Only web page information is on the web server.

  • If you ever feel that we have not followed this policy, please notify us by e-mail at hckrywds@aol.com and we will promptly correct the problem.

If anything is not according to the policy, tell us. We will fix it.

  • This privacy policy only applies while you are on our web site. Once you link to another web site, you should read that web site privacy policy before disclosing any personal information.

HWHA policies only apply to this site.
