Hickory Woods Waste Infomation
Here is information on how to get rid of stuff!
Waste Connection (formerly BFI) has given Hickory Woods a discount because we have enough users of their service. Check that you are getting the new rate of $12.00 per month. Their number is 522-8161. Pickup is on Wednesdays. If you are using another service, check with Melissa Mustard.
Bulky items that won't fit in the trash can are also collected. Up to 5 items can be put out for collection. Examples include a biicycle, large appliances, furniture or tires. This does not include building materials. If there is any question about the suitability of any item for pickup with the regular trash, call Waste Connection at 522-8161.
Computers and monitors (only one at a time) will be accepted as trash.
Household hazardous waste can be disposed of FREE at the waste transfer facility on Baxter Ave in Knoxville. See the map below.

Those products that are accepted and those that are not are shown on this page. It is worth while to note that no pressurized tanks are acceptable, but it follows from that that EMPTY pressurized tanks ARE acceptable. Read these lists carefully.
