DiscoverET.org Search Tips

The DiscoverET.org website includes a Search box atop each portal page.  Using the one search box you can perform 3 different types of searches.  Tips on each type of search is included below followed by a list of Other DiscoverET.org Search Tools and a link to our Popular Search Engines page.

Searching the E.T. Directory

• Perform this search by making sure the circle to the right of E.T. Directory is selected.
• Discover.org's East Tennessee Directory will be searched when you click Go!
• The search function in the DiscoverET.org Directory is based on 1) the NAMES of all groups and organizations listed in the Directory,  2) the URLs (web addresses) of those organizations, and  3) ANY WORD in the site descriptions.

Searching DiscoverET.org

• Perform this search by making sure the circle to the right of DiscoverET.org is selected.
• Click Go! to initiate a Google search of the DiscoverET.org server, including the pages of the 260+ websites of nonprofit groups hosted by DiscoverET.org and the DiscoverET.org Directory pages that Google has indexed.

Searching the Internet

• Perform this search by making sure the circle to the right of Internet is selected.
• A Google search of the Internet is made when you click Go!

Other DiscoverET.org Search Tools

• To find Directory categories of interest to you... use the Find a Category page.
• To find websites listed in the Directory or Calendar Events associated with a specific East Tennessee county... use the County Links page.
• To find events in East Tennessee... use the Find Events tool on our Calendar page.
• To use a DiscoverET.org KEYword (mostly used for Technical Support purpose)... visit the Members page or go straight to the KEYword Search page.
