Dear Brothers,

Several things to talk about. 1. The new Luminous Mysteries of the Rosary. There is a copy of a rosary leaflet that has ALL the mysteries of our beloved Rosary. I have got a catalog on order for more information about what the Association of Marian Helpers has to offer. If we would like to distribute these leaflets, the costs are shown below:

Along with our ministry of giving out Rosaries, we can include these also. This was brought up at the meeting and approved to buy 200. Fifty each will go to Fr. Mankel and Fifty to Fr. Haley. The council will distribute the rest and resupply the priests as needed.

A Retention Committee has been formed in accordance with KofC policies. The committee consists of The Grand Knight, Financial Secretary, Treasurer and the 3 Trustees. At this time, we are asking that anyone who has not paid their dues for this year, PLEASE DO SO. I do not wish to have to suspend someone for not paying their dues. At the April 22nd meeting, we had to sign over 60, third and potential LAST NOTICE to pay dues forms. This coming Fraternal year there will be tremendous amount of activities to participate in. Remember, coming to all the meetings or at least once in a while is fine. If you would like to participate in activities only, GREAT! Let us know, we'll keep you busy!

The Easter Egg Hunt last Saturday went off well. There were 70 prizes given out. 35 were donated by the DGK. There were about 20 to 30 kids participating (I mean under 12) that is. Coffee and Doughnuts were provided for the helpers as well as any latecomers. Many, many thanks for all who contributed their Lawn Mowing time for this time honored event.

Just before we left, the subject of the Divine Sunday was discussed. The 4th degree Honor Guard was requested to attend. John Sholly coordinated with Fr. Mankel about the 4th Degree helping out. See letter from John Sholly to Paul Rodarte.

The subject of continued assistance at the Cerebral Palsy home was brought up. Sat. May 3rd at one (1) pm is the scheduled time to meet at the home. Richard Krowicki is the main point of contact. We are asking that anyone who can lift a hammer or help out, please attend!!!!

There is no 4th degree meeting in May due to Mother's Day, which is on a Sunday. Brothers, remember, if you are married or have a significant other, get the ladies some flowers!

The annual convention is coming up rapidly. It will be from May 2-4, 2003, in Memphis. Paul Vadeboncoeur will be attending as Two Bears cannot make it this year.

At the May 6 meeting we will have an OPEN meeting/social. Try to be at IC by 7 pm. Helpers needed to help set-up. Business can be conducted either before or after the social. There will be a guest speaker there, Sister Bernadette from the Dominican Sisters Convent in Nashville.

I feel the need to mention this wonderful event again. If at all possible, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th Degree Knight, pelase attend the Divine Mercy Sunday services. This is a wonderful opportunity to worship!!!!

Sir Knight W. Two Bears and Lady Leslie Hebert, are still in need of our prayers and whatever support we can give them. Please talk or visit with them often. Thanks for the freezer!

Let us remember all our fallen brothers and sisters that have gone before us marked with the sign of faith. Pray the Rosary as often as possible.

May God bless each and every one of you and your families.

Fraternally yours,

Vivat Jesus,

Paul M. Rodarte

Deputy Grand Knight

Dear Brothers,

There are some items that I am going to address:

The First: Our Worthy Grand Knight, Two Bears Hebert. Per phone conversation with Leslie, he is getting much better, however, he did start to get pneumonia in the bottom of his right lung. The Doctor's pumped a lot of antibiotics in him and he got better. Next, he has been taken off his sedation medication and the ventilator. He still cannot talk, however, he is awake as of today. He is still a bit on the weak side, but the prognosis still looks like a good recovery. Leslie has barred him from going to the convention in May. More news later.

The second item: Eucharistic Adoration. The list shown below is of the Brothers that have signed up so far:

Speaking of the wives, please contact John Swindeman for more information concerning the wives and significant others meeting at John's house on April 22, 2003 to hopefully start up a Ladies Auxiliary Council.

For any of you committee Directors, please send in your reports to me as quickly as is humanly possible. I need to compile them and submit them to the State Council for the convention.

Lastly, honestly I really did not plan on writing a long letter, I am asking for help on Saturday, April 19, 2003 for the Easter Egg Hunt. It will be at St. Joseph's School from 10 am till noon. I need helpers there starting at about 8 am. We also need to help set up the eggs in advance as well as the prizes. I have a big box of goodies for prizes. Ideas are welcome. Please give me a call.

Thanks for all your time and dedication. Please remember to keep Two Bears in your prayers for a speedy recovery.

With warm thoughts and prayers,

Vivat Jesus,

Paul M. Rodarte

Deputy Grand Knight

October 2000

My Fellow Knights,

The new millenium has brought about a renewed excitement as well as many new activities. I am Dan Hurley, a Second Degree Knight with Council 645. I am also particularly excited about my project: the Columbian Squires. Council 645 has agreed to sponsor this activity, which I will operate for a period of about one year. The Squires will have fun while learning skills and attitudes that we hope will aid in their development of leadership abilities, by participation in a broad-based learning program of activities they can reflect upon for the duration of their lives.

Such activities as lawn maintenance, sports and social events, and even high school and college events will require both me and other brother Knights to be successful. There are currently three Counselor positions open: Career, Finance, and Social. If you are interested in learning more about the Squires contact me.

Please consider a commitment for the young men of our future.

In the walk,

Dan Hurley
