Minutes for January 30, 2004

Present: Harold Byrd, Mark Cawood, David Collins, Martha Dooley, Terry Faulkner, Scott Frith, Mary Lou Horner, Susan Long, Mickey Mallonee, Cassandra McGee, Janet McGaha, Dan McGehee, Edythe McNabb, Page Pratt-Green, Jenny Raines, Susan Rudell, Garrett Wagley and Tim Wheeler.

Absent: Beth Bowman, Mark Brown, Johnnie Conner, Neal Denton, Marc Anthony, Phyllis Fansler, Kim Hansard, Jan Hutchison, Sam Maynard, and Lori Tucker.

* Take advantage of Tom position on Haslam’s Team
* Coordinate with TDOT on landscaping older interstates
* Coordinate with TDOT on mowing/planting trees
* Help State promote Adopt-a-Spot
* KKB intermediary with city concerning complaints

Prioritize Solutions
1. Develop relationship with the city
2. Promote with TDOT: 1) mowing, 2) Adopt-a-Spot, 3) landscape older interstates
3. Continue to promote Adopt-a-Road in the county

Implementation
* Tom can take concerns to Nine Counties on Vision
* Mary Lou can help KKB work with TDOT

Other Organizations

Current State
The overall current level of KKB partnerships with other organization is low to medium. KKB has a high level of partnership with the city, county and some communities. Low levels with Nine Counties One Vision and schools. Non-existent with chamber of commerce.

Opportunities
* Personal Contact (not letters)
* Involvement with follow-up
* Better understanding of projects (year round clean up activities)
* Give businesses creative opportunities (cell phone and computer recycling)
* Give certificates to participants
* Follow-up evaluations on all participants

1. Pre packaged events (inclusive and easy to access)

3. Personal accountability
4. Fundraising

* Board Implementation
