Call to Order
The meeting was called to order by Page Pratt-Greene at 12:17. There
was a quorum for this meeting.
Approval of the Minutes
Page asked board members to review the minutes from the October 2004
board meeting. Mary Lou made a motion to approve and Tim Wheeler
seconded the motion. Approval was unanimous.
Presidents Report – Page Pratt-Greene
Page led a discussion of the current and projected financial
situation. Bottom line is that without about $12,000 in new fundraising
we will run out of cash in May/June. There was a discussion to continue
pushing the clean business program and that each board member will try
to get some new prospects.
There will be an event in December after we return from the national
meeting to promote our national awards, our mission and to raise some
money. Page asked for volunteers for this committee. Cassandra McGee,
Mary Lou Horner, Susan Long, Keith Austin, Martha Dooley and Page
volunteered for this committee.
Page asked for volunteers to serve on the Great American Cleanup and
Board Retreat Committees. Great American Cleanup committee is Mark
Cawood, Edythe Nelle McNabb, Goldie Simpkins, Tim Wheeler, Martha
Dooley, Gary Loe and Phyllis Fansler. Board Retreat Committee is: Susan
Rudell, David Collins, Keith Austin, Mary Lou Horner, Mark Cawood and
Gary Loe.
There was a discussion the dilemma that we have won several top
national awards and have no funding to send board members to the
national conference to represent KKB. Several board members expressed a
willingness to raise their own funds or cover part of their own
expenses. Mayor Haslam, Mayor Ragsdale and City Councilman (and KKB
board member) Mark Brown have all committed funds to send board members
to Washington in December.
Executive Director's report – Tom Salter
Tom presented the Financial Statement and Summary for October 2004.
A motion was made by Mary Lou Horner to accept it. Martha Dooley
seconded the motion. The October 2004 financial statement and summary
were accepted.

- The large billboard is up at a highly visible location near Cherry
Street. The smaller billboards all seem to be down for now. A new
round of billboards will begin soon.
- The Youth Advisory Board had their regular meeting. Ten schools are
represented this year. YAB members are fully committed to increasing
awareness of the Don’t Throw Down on K—TOWN slogan and promoting
participation in the school system mixed paper recycling program. YAB
members are conducting awareness surveys to determine a baseline for
their promotion activities – 3 schools have been completed and 59 of
98 students surveyed (60.2%) have heard of the Don’t Throw Down on

their results.
