Officials from Keep America Beautiful just notified us that we will receive KAB's top award for a local program on December 3rd at the KAB annual conference in Washington DC.  The full name for the award is First Place Affiliate Award for a community with population of 200,000 or more.  The recognition if for overall programming and takes into account everything we did from July 2003 through June 2004.

Keep Knoxville Beautiful
held its regular monthly board meeting at The Candy Factory today.  We tried a new caterer for lunch - the Everyday Epicurean.  The big topic today was next Tuesday's Orchid Awards luncheon.  Board members discussed status of ticket sales, the role of board members at the event and then selected the People's Choice Orchid Award.  In September our independent judges chose 9 of the Orchid Award winners and now our board members get to pick a personal favorite.  Come to the luncheon next Tuesday to be among the first to know the results.
