Strategic
Partnerships
Keep Knoxville Beautiful is
successful because of several strategic partnerships with government and
business. While hundreds of organizations and thousands of
individuals work with us in implementing our programs, a few groups
provide significant resources. They are:
Keep America Beautiful
Keep Knoxville Beautiful is a certified affiliate in good standing
with Keep America Beautiful. KKB became an affiliate in 1978.
Keep America Beautiful affiliates are required to do some specific
programming in the areas of litter prevention, waste reduction and
community beautification. Affiliates are also required to
perform an objective annual survey of visible litter in their communities
called the "Litter Index". Keep America Beautiful provides
KKB with one of the most recognizable and respected "brands" in
the environmental community, national programs like the Great American
Cleanup™, high-quality nonprofit management training, useful supplies
like litter bags and banners and more. Affiliate directors from more
than 500 communities have access to an email list serve system that serves
as an issues "knowledge base".
Keep Tennessee Beautiful
Based in Memphis, Keep Tennessee Beautiful provides a number of services
to the 25+ KAB affiliates in the state and to all 95 counties that receive
special "litter grant" funding from the Tennessee Department of
Transportation. Keep Tennessee Beautiful produces a series of public
service advertisements each year,
