Photos of Library Events Library Events

The library hosts several special events throughout the year.

Here are some of our favorites:

  • Summer Reading Program
Each summer, children readers read towards their goal and enjoy weekly programs revolving around a theme that changes each year. Details on the upcoming Summer Reading 2005 will be published as they are finalized.
  • Halloween Party
Our Halloween special event is a spooky affair that ends the October Reading program (a shorter version of the summer program). !!
  • Christmas at the Library
Even Santa reads at the library! Join us each year as we host our annual holiday celebration.  We will have our annual party on December 21 at 3:00 P.M. this year. The Birdsong will provide musical entertainment and Santa himself will be here!
  • Adult Reading Program
Children aren't the only ones who join in the special events at the library. Our adult reading program allows adult readers an opportunity to get together and discuss what books they are currently enjoying and find out about other books they have been missing.
  • Easter Program  We also host an Easter Egg hunt, along with a visit from the Easter Bunny each year. This event is held in the Dr. Seargeant park, weather permitting.

Also, don't forget to watch for "Booktalk," the monthly column in the LaFollette Press and in The Volunteer Times,   written by Nancy Green, Library Director. It is usually published the first Wednesday and Thursday of each month.
