Your Library Card (A valuable asset!)
A library card is issued at no charge to residents or property owners living within a 45-minute drive of the library after an application is completed with proof of current mailing address. A $1.00 replacement fee is charged if the card is lost, stolen, or damaged.Parents or guardians who have a card in good standing must sign for cards for children 16 years of age or under. Parents/guardians will be responsible for all material charged to their child’s card.
A WORD TO PARENTS: Our staff is small and cannot be responsible for unattended children. Parents are asked to keep their children with them at all times.
YOU MUST HAVE YOUR LIBRARY CARD WITH YOU TO CHECK OUT LIBRARY MATERIALS.
OTHER HELPFUL INFORMATION Copy machine and fax services are available for a fee. There is also a fee for any printing from the computer. Floppy disks for saving you computer work are available for purchase. To protect the integrity of our computer systems, disks may not be brought in from outside the library.
- Books are checked out for 14 days.
- Videos and software are checked out for 3 days
- Audio book and CDs are checked out for 7 days
- The book drop is located to the right of the front door for use when the library is closed.
- A total of 5 titles may be checked out at any one time by each cardholder.
- Any book my be renewed one time if no other patron has placed a reserve hold on the title.
- Renewals may be made by phone if you call BEFORE the item is overdue.
- Overdue items may NOT be renewed until the fine is paid.
- A charge of 5 cents per day per item is charge for overdue books and audio books and a charge of $1.00 per day per item is charged for overdue videos and software CDS.
- As a courtesy, reminders are sent periodically to alert patrons regarding overdue materials.
- Failure to return materials and pay fines will result in loss of all library privileges.
- Overdue fines should be paid at the circulation desk, NOT left in the book or put in the book drop.
- To avoid fines, return items before closing time on the day they are due.
- Patrons agree to reimburse METML for lost or damaged materials.
COMPUTER USE
Computers, located in the Adult reference and audio-visual area, are available to the community for free Internet access and for word-processing applications. There is also a computer located in the children’s area for use with children’s educational and entertainment software.
Anyone wishing to access the Internet must sign the METML Internet/Computer Usage Agreement. A parent or guardian must sign the form for children.
Computer use is limited to a half hour if others are waiting for access.
