Pick-Up Sticks - try to pick up each stick without moving the others Marbles - pick up a marble with the chopsticks and move it to the other bowl

Picnic and Awards at Townsend City Park
We had pizza, drinks, and dessert, and Snow Cones courtesy of Mr. and Mrs. Ledford from Chilhowee Area Resort Ministries (CHARM)

We had fun playing in the park.


Josiah won the prize for most minutes read in the Ages 3 - 5 group: 307 minutes
His prize was a certificate for a kid's meal at Black Bear Cafe and a coupon for a harmonica from Wood-N-Strings Dulcimer Shop

Bryson won the prize for most minutes read in the Ages 6 - 8 group: 2,915 minutes
His prize was two horseback rides from Cades Cove Riding Stables in the Cove

Dante won the prize for most minutes read in the Ages 9 - 11 group: 3,300 minutes
His prize was a zipline ride at Next to Heaven Stables
He also won the prize for most total minutes read: A birch lap harp donated by Wood-N-Strings Dulcimer Shop

Dolly Parton's Imagination Library:
The Mary E. Tippitt Memorial Library in Townsend is now a registration point for Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library in Blount County. This program provides all preschoolers in Tennessee with their own books, mailed to them each month until their fifth birthday. The books are free. The program is being sponsored by the Maryville Kiwanis Foundation and managed by the Blount County Library. Parents of children under the age of five can come to the Mary Tippitt Library and fill out a registration form. The library will send the forms to the Blount County Library for entry into the program.
