Layout of the Main Library

Main Library

The Main Library is on the first floor.  All adult and young adult materials can be found here (audio, visual and print).  

Reference Room

 

The Reference Room (previously the Genealogy Room) contains reference books, dictionaries, and atlases.  The materials in the room cannot be checked out.

All genealogy materials, except for microfilmed newspapers,  have now been moved to the Hamblen County Archives, located in the Old Courthouse.  Please contact the Archives at: (423) 586-1961.

Anyone who needs help researching their family trees can also meet with the Genealogical Society.  The Society meets on the first Thursday (unless noted otherwise) at 1:00 P.M. in the Genealogy Room.

 

Computer Room (Main Library)

Also located on the first floor is the Computer Room.  There are eleven computers available for use.  All users must sign up to use the computer using their library card fines less than $5.00 on it, in order to be allowed on the computers.  Guests in the area can purchase a temporary Internet usage card.  There is also a 15 minute Express Computer, that patrons can use once per hour.
