Library News 
On Saturday, May 17, the Friends of the Morristown-Hamblen Library will be
having its quarterly Book Sale from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the Friends Room
(across from the restrooms on the Main Floor of the Library). Donations
for upcoming sales are accepted all year.
The 2008 Summer Reading Program, "Starship Adventure @ Your Library"
will begin on Tuesday, May 27. "Starship Adventure" is a program
where children can earn incentives for either listening to or reading books from
the library and at home. At the end of the program, the children who have
completed all five levels of the program will be entered into a grand prize
drawing. There will also be weekly story time programs for both preschool
and school aged children, and special guest performances planned. The
program will end on June 30th, with the grand prize drawing held on July
1st. Registration for the program begins on Monday, May 5th. Forms
and log books will be available in the Children's Room. Good luck and have
fun reading!
The Morristown-Hamblen Library will be closed on Monday, May 26 for Memorial
Day. The library will reopen on Tuesday, May 27. On behalf of the
library, we would like to wish everyone a happy and safe holiday season.
The Tween and Teen Summer Program "Find What's Out There @ Your
Library" will be starting in July. "Find What's Out There"
is a series of four fun workshop sessions for tweens and teens. In
addition, there will be extra activities and contests to participate in.
All sessions are free and are open to tweens and teens ages 12-15 only. No
parents or older/younger siblings will be allowed to attend. There will be
space available for 20 young adults on a first come/first serve basis.
Registration forms and more information on the program will be available at the
Circulation Desk starting in June. Please note that space for the sessions
is limited, so sign up quickly. In the event you are unable to attend a
session, please notify the library at least 1 day in advance. We hope you
